DIY 19' rack server case

A new home, in my case, also means a new server rack. And since I don't have space for a full size rack, I ended up with a low-depth rack.

In this low-depth rack i only have about 30 centimeters of depth, so this also means new computer cases.

This month I started with a new server case, and since its difficult to find a good low-depth case for cheap I ended up making one myself from a pre-made 'audio' case without any of the normal holes for the PSU, motherboard, etc.

I can write down a long story about how i made it, but I think it's better to just show the pictures.

The extra parts I used to make it into a server case:

  • Curtain rails to connect the motherboard to the case
  • metal u shaped profiles to support the harddisk
  • some nuts and bolts

PS. for now i forgot to make an image with all the harddisks in the case, this will follow soon.
